I am awake

In fact, I’ve never felt more alive

I can create

I can change lives

But now I search for

A way to pave a world of a new kind

Right now this world is asleep

And full of many sheep

So absorbed with things on the surface

When will they see our true purpose

What will it take to shake them awake

To see that our world is ruled by slithering snakes

They look for things to drive us apart

Making us forget we have the same heart

Encouraging race wars, world wars

Prejudice of religion and class

We need to give these powers that be

A proverbial kick in the ass

Stop being so blind to the problems that surround us

If we don’t acknowledge things soon

This world will surely drown us

Start looking to your neighbors with kindness and love

The apathy shown so far is not nearly enough

We need to go out of our way to make a difference in this place

Look into the eyes and soul of every face

See yourself in one another

In every sister

In every brother

In every father

And every mother

Slowly but surely we are gaining traction

To set this motion into action

It is time to spread this enlightenment

And don’t for one second be frightened by it

We will, of course, see resistance

By those consumed with fear and ignorance

There is so much hate and evil to overcome

But we can do this together as one

So everyone, snap awake now

May you be struck with a boom, smack, and a pow

Of love, spirit, and wisdom

So we can work together to build

This kingdom of freedom

We are the ones that connect Heaven and Earth

Now is the time for spiritual rebirth

So everyone, I beg you, open your eyes

Look to the mountains, the trees, and the skies

This world is beyond beautiful

But can’t you see its been covered in lies

Can’t you see that you are no different than I

If you’re still having doubts, please take my hand

Let’s go outside

Away from the influences of man’s creation

Away from the illusion of our separation

See all the nature that surrounds us

With no media out here to confound us

Take a deep breath in, let the light and love into your heart

There really is nothing that should keep us apart

We are made of the same moon, soil, ocean, and stars

Please feel the unity of our beating hearts

Peace, joy, freedom, and equality

It’s waiting for you and for me

But we need others to join us so this world can come to be

Get everyone you can to look outside

To stop being scared and trying to hide

It’s time for the dawn of a new age

Forget all of the hate, and for once

Let love rage

Hopefully I have gained enough of your attention

So you can be gripped by this new conviction

Be awake

Be alive

Go create

Go change lives

Separate the darkness from the light

And all of the truths from their lies

Together we can each do our part

Hand and hand and heart to heart

No longer will this be a dream of mine and another few

We have what it takes to make this dream come true

We’ll turn these sheep back into people

No longer will they be cowards, scared and feeble

No longer will they feel like less than they are

They will see they are the moon, soil, ocean, and stars

It’s not their fault they have been led astray

The wrong people have been leading from day to day

From year to year

Century to century

Always led by some power-hungry corrupt entity

I mentioned them earlier, those slithering snakes

Trying to blind us with fear and hate

Making us believe we have no power

But this, my friend, is their final hour

The time has come for all to see their true potential

The Earth is your home

It is not their rental

We all have a right to resources and love

It is not just for those that think they’re above

We are all equal, and this is the truth

You are me, and I am you

Have you heard my words yet

Have they hit your core

Please tell me if you need to hear more

I won’t give up on you, I give you my vow

I’ll never stop while this world is corrupt

While so many of us are stuck in the muck

We are awake
